Learning from History: Maud Dahme Speaks to Our 7th Grade

Posted Date: 12/11/25 (08:49 AM)

Holocaust survivor Maud Dahme visited our 7th grade today following their reading of her memoir Chocolate: The Taste of Freedom.

As a hidden child during the Holocaust, Maud was separated from her parents at just six years old when Germany invaded the Netherlands. She and her younger sister were sheltered by two Christian families until they were liberated by Allied Forces in 1945.

Maud shared her powerful story of resilience, courage, and forgiveness with our students, and emphasized the importance of continuing Holocaust education in our schools. We are grateful for the opportunity for our students to learn from her firsthand. Thank you, Ms. Robinson, for making this meaningful experience possible for our Wildcats.
