About Us
Heywood Avenue School in Orange, New Jersey is a public Pre-K through 7th grade school within the Orange Board of Education. The school emphasizes academic rigor, STEAM readiness, and holistic development in a safe, caring environment. With small class sizes, a diverse student body, and strong family engagement, Heywood Avenue School offers programs in core academics, art, music, world languages, physical education, and special education. Students are celebrated for academic achievement, attendance, and leadership through awards and activities, while community involvement is fostered through events, Student Council, and PTA initiatives.
